Normally I cannot get to the school working bees because they are on at a time that is unsuitable to working people who have to travel. But I was working from home this day in part because of the Buddha’s Birthday holiday.
As Kirsten had the car, I caught the nice 688 bus on the 12 minute journey over to the school and arrived at the same time as Kirsten who luckily did not run me over when I crossed the tourist road.
As I arrived, walking up past the music building, I saw the bonfire.
I spent some time, as directed by Nickie, collecting sticks from remote parts of the school. Teresa spent some time helping me with this.
After this Kirsten and I both did stints at moving mulch and leaves in wheelbarrows. The school provided a cup of vegetable soup. I was a bit disappointed as I had been told to expect sausages and was looking forward to them.
Later we had fish and chips for dinner while watching Horrid Henry.
