Driving through Parkville

Was driving along a street I had not been down for a long long time trying to remember which way to get to where I wanted to go. Got to a point were my memory said – mum and dad used to turn left here. So I turned left. And sure enough the streets had not changed much, apart from some traffic slowing devices and I ended up exactly where I wanted to be.

This neural pathway must have stayed there unused for 35 years. Yet it came to the fire just when needed. My father always had a lease car. Strangely I remembered the first, from the longest time ago. I barely remember that car. I think it was a Toyota Corolla. It had red vinyl seats. In the memory of turning left, I remember the red vinyl seats.
