People in Sydney have one eating habit that I find really weird. They think that eating the same food as someone shows that you like them and support them. I have never come across this before in all my travels of the world and in all the other places I have lived. Even the people in HK think that it is really weird. Unfortunately for the people trying this, it usually results in one or more of the following:
- They have to really worry about what I will like and spend lots of time trying to limit what they are likely to have to eat.
- They show they have no idea of what food I like, and even less idea of why.
Both of these end up being farcical. I agree with the rest of the world. This approach is very stupid and doomed to failure. If you try to do this, I will, at best, think you are being patronizing.
