The 355 Bus to work

on the 355

It was raining today, so I implemented the it’s raining today in the morning plan and caught the 355 bus from Marrickville to Paddington. This bus follows a broadly geographically similar route to the route I ride to work on. But it is longer and meanders a lot. When including the walk to and form the bus stop it took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to work, and longer to get home as the traffic was heavier. It costs $3.20 for a one way ticket (though I use a travel 10, which makes it $2.56 for a single ticket) to travel the 6 sections. So it takes twice as long as the 45 minutes on the GT3 and costs $5.12 per day. I think at some stage I will start riding to work even if it is raining. Anyway, tomorrow I will catch the train to see how long that takes.

Over the course of a year that is $1181.33. Assuming I ride every day (including the rainy ones), I would pay off the GT3 in less than four years.
