Well I had a bad day at work. I started off on the wrong foot. I caught the bus to work because it was raining. I really need to leave earlier if I am going to do this. Then I had a presentation that was very hard to understand what the person on the other end of the video conference was saying. But the end of the day was good. Our weekly meeting at work went late, so I ended up on the last 355 bus from Bondi Junction To Marrickville. I got off at Newtown. I was a bit early. I did not have enough time to go home. So I did a bit of shopping, bought some arty fridge magnets for $5 less than they would be in Neutral Bay. I had pork chop for dinner in a Chinese place on King Street. I could tell it catered to western rather than Asian tastes by the patrons. But I am going to work my way along the street and this was the first. The food was what I would expect, so I give it 3 starts.
The real reason I was there was to go to the Massbug meeting. I had intended to go to the one before, but failed to put it into my calendar. When I got there one of the DHBC people was there. Later Max showed up. It turned out it was his first night too! How unexpected. The meeting was an interesting affair and I think I will make the effort to be involved. I just wanted to watch, look and learn for the first night. As I said previously, I am going on one of their rides latter this month. They discussed the bike routes in Marrickville, had a quick presentation from two other groups – Climate Action Newtown and the Sydney BUG group (I think). They discussed some awareness rasing topics and a submission to Marrickville Counil on funding.
I’m guessing but I think this is the one that has the photos of the different dishes on the wall.
Carolyn and I were going to start at one end of King Street and work our way down the street but we got sick of thai.
