Art Ride

I did not say it, but I thought last week’s art ride should have been part of the WNBR ride, but alas, it was not. This week I did the bike ride around Waterloo and Alexandria, ending in Newtown. The rides are held by Bike Sydney and are part of Art Month Sydney.

Basically we rode around various galleries and went to talks at the various places. We started with a talk on collecting Aboriginal Art. The are there was not so much to my own personal liking, but the historical perspective was interesting if somewhat brief. We went through several galleries in the Waterloo area. I wont go into each one. But there was something of interest at each place and a very wide variety of options, views and interests.

At each place we would park our little collection of bikes. In the one spot were there was not even any poles we just chained them together. The bikes were parked in the full sun. Kerry measured the temperature of the seats and the seats of the two wheeled bikes were 50 to 62 deg, while the trike 38 to 40 deg.

At the end we went to the At the Vanishing Point gallery, where the week before we had prepared for the WNBR and had some dinner.
