Bundaberg

Met the crew from last night and had breakfast. We went to McDonalds first, but two of us went back into town to a cafe. I had eggs Benedict.

I walked to Bundaberg rum. Missed the 10 am tour. Did the 11 am tour. The guides were very good and funny, though I guess it is a well rehearsed routine. Had rum and the local Ginger beer and the rum liquor. Both very good. The rum brought back memories of parties past when I was much younger. It has been a very long time since I have had this rum.

To late in the day to get to the Ginger beer place. Back into town. Had a pie with mushy peas and potato. Was unable to work out where the bus stops are so was unable to get the bus. This is becuase I cannot find any bus stop signs. I did see the bus.

Went to the botanic gardens. They are excellent. Went to the Bert Hinkler museum. It was very well presented and put together and I liked being able to climb into the aircraft. Had an iced coffee. In the place were some local news papers. There was an article on how Cycle Queensland had run the local pub dry at Mount Morgan.  Wandered down the back.  Visited the fairy thingy house just on closing time. The man let have a quick, free look.  Out the back gate. Past the railway museum, closed on Mondays. Back to the hotel.

Grabbed a noodle take away. When packing the bags realised I had left the house keys in the bike tool kit which is with the trike in a truck. No key till Thursday. Made some phone calls and emails. Arranged for David to be home when I arrived. I need to get a common area spare key from the strata manager. Made for a bad nights sleep.
